The University of Hong Kong (HKU) is a comprehensive, international, public research university in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China. It was founded on 16 March 1910 and the University was formally incorporated on 30 March the following year. Formerly known as The College of Medicine for Chinese, Hongkong, the University is the oldest tertiary education institution in Hong Kong. As of October 2021, HKU has ten faculties as well as research schools, with 8,636 academic staff and 31,844 students. As of 2019, HKU has five State Key Laboratories, five CAS-HKU Joint Laboratories, and over 90 various direct and affiliated research institutes. The University of Hong Kong is ranked 21st in the 2023 QS World University Rankings, 31st in the 2022 Times Higher Education World University Rankings, 1st in the 2022 Times Higher Education World's Highest International Universities, 34th in the 2021 Moscow International University Rankings, and shortlisted for the 2022 Times Higher Education Asia Awards for Technology Innovation of the Year.

香港大學（The University of Hong Kong），簡稱 “港大”，是中華人民共和國香港特別行政區的一所綜合性國際化公立研究型大學。香港大學奠基於1910年3月16日，次年3月30日正式註冊成立，其前身為香港西醫書院，是香港歷史最悠久的高等教育機構。截至2021年10月，港大共有十所學院以及研究學院，教職員8636人，學生31844人。截至2019年，香港大學設有5個國家重點實驗室、5個中科院港大聯合實驗室，各類直屬、附屬科研機構90餘個。香港大學2023 QS世界大學排名第21位 ，2022泰晤士高等教育世界大學排名第31位 ，2022泰晤士高等教育世界最高國際化大學第1名，2021莫斯科國際大學排名第34位，入圍2022年度泰晤士高等教育亞洲大獎年度技術創新獎。

The University of Hong Kong (HKU) is a research-intensive comprehensive university. The Faculty of Architecture at HKU is home to outstanding faculty, researchers, and students from both locally and around the world, working with the University's faculties, research centers, and institutes on innovative research that has a local, regional, and global impact. The faculty is consistently ranked among the top international institutions of excellence. Nine of our academics are ranked in the top 1% (ESI Top Cited 1%) or 2% (Stanford Top 2%) of their respective academic fields. The Faculty of Architecture at HKU is involved in a wide range of international collaborative activities, including cooperative research projects, visiting professorships, joint doctoral programs with other leading international institutions, and active participation in international networks.
